CVA Paramount 45 Cal Black Nitride features
The Paramount is CVA’s bolt-action long-range muzzleloader. It’s built around heavy, high-BC bullets and a fast 1:22 twist.
It’s drilled and tapped for scope bases. The barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy. The 1:22 twist stabilizes the long, heavy bullets the Paramount is built around. It’s a bolt action, so it handles like a centerfire rifle.
Stainless and nitride finishes shrug off moisture, so this muzzleloader is a good choice for wet hunts and humid climates.
Why 45 Caliber?
The 45 caliber shoots smaller, often longer bullets that fly flatter than a typical 50 caliber load. With the right bullet and powder charge, a 45 holds its speed better at distance, which is why long-range muzzleloader hunters like it. Check your state rules before you buy, because a few states set a minimum bore size.
For background on how in-line muzzleloaders work, the muzzleloader article on Wikipedia is a fair start. Your state wildlife agency sets the season rules.
