What you get with the CVA Cascade 6.5 Creedmoor Veil Tac Black
The Cascade is CVA’s bolt-action hunting rifle. Its 4140 carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle, so you can add a brake or suppressor where the law allows.
The 18 inch barrel keeps it short and handy in a blind or a truck cab. A removable spacer adjusts length of pull, so the same rifle can fit a teenager now and an adult later. Dual front swivel studs let you run a sling and a bipod at the same time. It takes two-piece scope bases made for the Savage 110, so mounts are easy to find. The bolt lifts 70 degrees, so it cycles fast and clears a big scope.
The Veil Tac Black finish keeps glare down in the field, and the synthetic stock won’t swell or warp in wet weather.
What the 6.5 Creedmoor is good for
Hornady introduced the 6.5 Creedmoor in 2007. Long, high-BC bullets hold their speed and resist wind, and it does that with modest recoil. There’s a huge range of factory ammo. For deer, 120 to 143 grain hunting bullets are the usual choice.
If you want the technical side, the SAAMI cartridge drawings cover chamber dimensions. Wikipedia has a good summary of the 6.5 Creedmoor too.
