Inside the CVA Cascade XT 450 Bushmaster
CVA’s Cascade XT takes the standard Cascade and adds a fluted #5 taper barrel and a Graphite Black Cerakote finish that shrugs off rust and scratches.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 (11/16×24 on the 450 Bushmaster). The bolt lifts 70 degrees and has an oversized knob that’s easy to grab with gloves on. A two-position safety and a flush-fit detachable magazine keep the controls simple. The synthetic stock has a SoftTouch finish and adjustable length of pull through a spacer system.
Cerakote is a ceramic coating that resists rust and scratches better than bluing. On this rifle it means less worry in rain, snow and salt air.
450 Bushmaster in the CVA Cascade XT 450 Bushmaster
The 450 Bushmaster is a big straight-wall round that throws 250 to 300 grain bullets. It’s legal in most straight-wall deer states. It hits hard inside 200 yards and has more recoil than a 350 Legend, though a good recoil pad keeps it manageable. Hornady’s factory loads are the ones most hunters start with.
If you want the technical side, the SAAMI cartridge drawings cover chamber dimensions. Wikipedia has a good summary of the 450 Bushmaster too.
