Inside the CVA Scout V2 Takedown 444 Marlin Stainless
The Scout V2 Takedown is a single-shot rifle that comes apart in seconds with no tools. Barrel and stock separate, and the rifle fits in a small case or a pack.
The barrel is fluted 416 stainless steel. The 100 percent ambidextrous stock has a CrushZone recoil pad. The DuraSight DEAD-ON one-piece scope mount holds zero when you take the rifle down and put it back together. A reversible hammer spur suits both left and right-handed shooters.
This rifle has a corrosion-resistant barrel finish, which helps on wet days and long hunts.
Why 444 Marlin?
Marlin and Remington introduced the 444 Marlin in 1964. Think of it as a stretched 44 Magnum: same bullet diameter, a lot more powder. It drives 240 to 265 grain bullets fast and hits hard at woods ranges. Ammo is less common than 45-70, so buy a few boxes when you find your load.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 444 Marlin history on Wikipedia.
