Inside the CVA Scout V2 Takedown 450 Bushmaster Scoped
CVA’s Scout V2 Takedown pairs a fluted 416 stainless steel barrel with a tool-free takedown system. It’s a full-size hunting rifle you can store in a small space.
The DuraSight DEAD-ON one-piece scope mount holds zero when you take the rifle down and put it back together. A reversible hammer spur suits both left and right-handed shooters. The barrel is fluted 416 stainless steel. The 100 percent ambidextrous stock has a CrushZone recoil pad.
This rifle has a corrosion-resistant barrel finish, which helps on wet days and long hunts.
CVA Scout V2 Takedown 450 Bushmaster Scoped scope package
The CVA Scout V2 Takedown 450 Bushmaster Scoped comes with a Konus 3-9x40mm scope. Three to nine power is a sensible range for most hunting: low for close shots in timber, higher for field edges and cut lines. Zero it at 100 yards before the season and confirm at the longest distance you expect to shoot.
What the 450 Bushmaster is good for
The 450 Bushmaster is a big straight-wall round that throws 250 to 300 grain bullets. It’s legal in most straight-wall deer states. It hits hard inside 200 yards and has more recoil than a 350 Legend, though a good recoil pad keeps it manageable. Hornady’s factory loads are the ones most hunters start with.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 450 Bushmaster history on Wikipedia.
