CVA Hunter 450 Bushmaster features
The CVA Hunter is a basic break-action single shot with a blued barrel and a black synthetic stock.
The cocking spur is reversible. It has an automatic hammer-block safety, so the rifle won’t fire unless you pull the trigger. The stock is ambidextrous and has a CrushZone recoil pad. A DuraSight DEAD-ON one-piece scope mount fits the barrel.
Bluing is the classic gun finish. Wipe it down with a lightly oiled rag after a wet hunt and it’ll stay in good shape.
450 Bushmaster in the CVA Hunter 450 Bushmaster
The 450 Bushmaster is a big straight-wall round that throws 250 to 300 grain bullets. It’s legal in most straight-wall deer states. It hits hard inside 200 yards and has more recoil than a 350 Legend, though a good recoil pad keeps it manageable. Hornady’s factory loads are the ones most hunters start with.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 450 Bushmaster history on Wikipedia.
