CVA Cascade 223 Rem FDE features
The Cascade is CVA’s bolt-action hunting rifle. Its 4140 carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle, so you can add a brake or suppressor where the law allows.
Dual front swivel studs let you run a sling and a bipod at the same time. It takes two-piece scope bases made for the Savage 110, so mounts are easy to find. The bolt lifts 70 degrees, so it cycles fast and clears a big scope. A two-position safety sits where your thumb lands.
The Cerakote finish holds up to rain, sweat and rough handling much better than plain bluing.
Why 223 Remington?
The 223 Remington is the most common centerfire rifle round in the US, which keeps ammo cheap and easy to find. It’s light on recoil and good for coyotes, groundhogs and paper. Where it’s legal for deer, use a bonded bullet built for it.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 223 Remington history on Wikipedia.

Getting your rifle ready
Try two or three factory loads before you settle on one. Most rifles show a clear favorite, and that’s the load to zero with and hunt with. Clean the bore every few hundred rounds and keep a light coat of oil on the metal.
