What you get with the CVA Cascade 223 Rem Short Barrel
The Cascade is CVA’s bolt-action hunting rifle. Its 4140 carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle, so you can add a brake or suppressor where the law allows.
The 18 inch barrel keeps it short and handy in a blind or a truck cab. It feeds from a flush-fit detachable magazine. The fiberglass-reinforced synthetic stock has a SoftTouch finish that grips well in rain and cold. A removable spacer adjusts length of pull, so the same rifle can fit a teenager now and an adult later. Dual front swivel studs let you run a sling and a bipod at the same time.
Cerakote is a ceramic coating that resists rust and scratches better than bluing. On this rifle it means less worry in rain, snow and salt air.
223 Remington in the CVA Cascade 223 Rem Short Barrel
The 223 Remington is the most common centerfire rifle round in the US, which keeps ammo cheap and easy to find. It’s light on recoil and good for coyotes, groundhogs and paper. Where it’s legal for deer, use a bonded bullet built for it.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 223 Remington history on Wikipedia.
