What you get with the CVA Cascade 204 Ruger
The Cascade is CVA’s bolt-action hunting rifle. Its 4140 carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle, so you can add a brake or suppressor where the law allows.
A removable spacer adjusts length of pull, so the same rifle can fit a teenager now and an adult later. Dual front swivel studs let you run a sling and a bipod at the same time. It takes two-piece scope bases made for the Savage 110, so mounts are easy to find. The bolt lifts 70 degrees, so it cycles fast and clears a big scope.
The SoftTouch Veil Wideland finish keeps glare down in the field, and the synthetic stock won’t swell or warp in wet weather.
204 Ruger in the CVA Cascade 204 Ruger
Hornady and Ruger introduced the 204 Ruger in 2004. Light 32 to 40 grain bullets leave the barrel at around 4,000 feet per second. That speed makes it very flat out to 400 yards, and recoil is so light you can watch your hits through the scope.
SAAMI publishes the official chamber and cartridge drawings on its cartridge and chamber drawings page. There’s also a readable 204 Ruger history on Wikipedia.
