CVA Cascade rifle guide: finishes, calibers and prices
The CVA Cascade rifle is CVA’s bolt-action hunter. This guide walks through every Cascade we stock so you can pick the right one.

The CVA Cascade rifle is a bolt-action hunting rifle with a threaded 4140 steel barrel, a 70 degree bolt throw and a stock you can shorten or lengthen. We stock 35 of them from $499, in 13 calibers. Here’s what changes from one to the next.
What every CVA Cascade rifle shares
Every CVA Cascade rifle has a two-position safety, a flush-fit detachable magazine and a fiberglass-reinforced synthetic stock with a SoftTouch finish. A spacer system changes length of pull, so one rifle can fit a teenager now and an adult later, or a hunter in a heavy winter coat. Dual front swivel studs take a sling and a bipod at the same time, and the receiver takes two-piece bases made for the Savage 110.
Cascade finishes explained
The finish is mostly about where you hunt. Veil Wideland and FDE suit open country and mixed cover. Veil Alpine and Sniper Gray Cerakote suit rock and high country. Big Sky SoftTouch Gray is a lighter camo, and Veil Tac Black is the short-barrel tactical look. The Cascade 6.5 Creedmoor in matte black is the plain, lowest-priced option at $499.
The CVA Cascade XT
The XT is the upgraded CVA Cascade rifle. It has a #5 taper fluted barrel, Graphite Black Cerakote metal and an oversized bolt knob that’s easy to grab with gloves. We stock it in 308, 350 Legend, 450 Bushmaster, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag, all at $749. Start with the Cascade XT 6.5 Creedmoor or the Cascade XT 300 Win Mag.

Start with the length of pull. Add or remove the spacer until you can see the full scope picture the moment your cheek touches the stock. Then mount the scope with good rings, set eye relief in your hunting position, and torque the screws evenly. Fire a few groups with two or three factory loads, and keep the one that groups best.
The threaded muzzle comes with a thread protector. Leave it on unless you’re fitting a brake or suppressor, and check it’s snug before every trip. If you add a brake to a magnum, wear good hearing protection; brakes are loud for anyone beside you.
Is the CVA Cascade rifle right for you?
If you want one bolt gun that can cover deer season, a trip west and a few coyotes, yes. If you want the lightest, simplest rifle possible, look at the CVA Scout rifle guide instead.
